Cheating is a topic in online gaming that never gets old, but instead of only talking about it, some people feel the need to betray other players by cheating. In the past weeks we have removed over 250 cheaters from all games Aequitas supports including CS, CS:Source and Call of Duty 4.
Today alone we have banned
more than 130 players that cheated in official ESL matches, but everyone knows, or at least should know, that Aequitas isn't just an anti cheat tool, it is even more effective when it comes to finding fakeaccounts.
Cheaters often try to avoid their bans by creating new accounts. There are tutorials for creating fake accounts, but Aequitas doesn't give them a chance to deceive us and rejoining the ESL Ladders with a new account. During this quarter Aequitas detected
more that 400 fake accounts (April: 124, May: 141, June: 162) with little admin work.
Those who try making fakeaccounts are punished twice. 1. Their new accounts will be deleted fast and 2. Their original barrage is started again and additional penalty points for multiaccounts are added. In addition they shoot down their chances of rehabilitation.
This will not be the last news about the fight against cheater and faker but it should make clear that we are anxious to banish such people from our leagues.
