Opening Cup Groups Online

 The groups for the opening cup are generated and the tournament can kick off with the first games. In the first groupstage there are eleven groups of four players and one group of five players. The first two of each group will advance to the next groupstage. The second groupstage will feature four groups of six players and also the top two will advance to the final playoffs, which will be top eight and single elimination, all matches will be best of three.

| First Groupstage | all three matches have to be played until 18th June 2009. Players can move all matches within that time frame as they wish, as long as both players agree on a date. |
| Server | If both players can't agree on a server location, they will play one map on each players server, while the opponents map choice will be played on their own server. For a decider map the player with the better frag/death ratio may choose between the two already played server locations. |

What to do on the ESL Website?
You will find all your groupstage matches in your open matches. There you have a link to match setup for each game, there you can suggest a new play date and have to enter your map. Your opponent can't see your map, until he also entered his map choice. When both players agreed on a date, the match status will be set to "open". Which means that the date is then obligatory for both sides.After the match is played both players have to enter/confirm the match result in their open matches. At least one player (normally the winner) has to upload screenshots of all played maps to the ESL website as confirmation of the result.

Map pool Poll
The last two weeks we had a poll about the 1on1 Mappool and the result is:- Campgrounds Redux (qzdm6) 18.5%
- Furious Heights (tourney7) 18.5%
- Vertical Vengeance (tourney4) 17.8%
- Lost World (qzdm13) 17%
- Almost Lost (tourney6) 16.3%
- The House of Decay (tourney9) 11.9%
That means the map pool stays as it was and tourney9 is not added.
